This article describes how to add editable placeholders to the Page Master of a Displayr document so that these textboxes have consistent styling and positioning across the document. Available placeholders include:
- Text Boxes
- Content blocks
- Page numbers.
Adding Placeholders in the Page Master
1. In the Tools menu (top-left), click on View Page Master
2. In the Page Master view, go to the page where you want to add the new placeholder.
3. Click on the Placeholder menu in the toolbar at the top.
4. Then select the object you want to insert: a Text Box, a Content block, or Page Numbers.
5. If you select Text Box or Content, click and drag on the page where you want to insert the output.
- Selecting Text Box adds a new text box to the currently selected master page. It allows you to control the default text formatting and settings for this text box on all pages that use the selected master page.
- Please note that this new text box is editable in Edit mode like the other text boxes on the default master pages.
- Content adds a new placeholder chart to the page. This placeholder chart allows you to control the default formatting and colors of visualizations on any page in Displayr. To learn more about this, see: How to Set the Default Colors for Tables and Visualizations
- Page number. To learn more about page numbers, see: How to Add Page Numbers to a Displayr Document
6. Select Exit Page Master (in the top-right-hand corner) to return to the Edit mode.
