Suppose you set your default Title font in Page Master to Black...
... and while editing your document, you manually change it to Red...
... and then later on, you decide you want to reset it back to the default.
While you can easily edit the title and manually change the font color yourself, in this article you will learn how you can automatically reset formatting changes like fonts back to their default.
Method
Setting defaults in Page Master
First, we will set the default fonts.
- To access the Page Master, click the Page Master button
at the bottom of the screen.
- On the left of the page is the Master tree. This lists all the different types of pages available in the Document.
- From the Master tree, select the Title Only page, then select the title.
- In the object inspector
, go to Appearance > Font and select the Font color that you want from the drop-down.
- Go through each Page until you find an Output with text and select it. For example, the Title Page. Select all the Master text styles and update the font color.
- Repeat Step 4 for each Text object in the Master tree.
Next, we will set one of the default colors for shapes.
- From the Master tree, select the Title and Content page, and select the existing chart on the page.
- In the object inspector
, go to Appearance and then either go to Series 0 color or Series 1 color and change the color.
- To return from the Page Master view, click Exit Page Master at the bottom of the screen. This will take you back to the Edit view where you can carry on creating your report.
Resetting the defaults
The following page contains some text and a shape. I manually changed the colors, but would like to change them back to their defaults.
- Select all the objects on the page.
- Right-click and go to Reset > select Text Box/Shape Formatting
