Suppose you set your default Title font in Page Master to Black...
... and while editing your document you manually change it to Red...
... and then later on you decide you want to reset it back to the default.
While you can easily edit the title and manually change the font color yourself, in this article you will learn how you can automatically reset formatting changes like fonts back their default.
Method
Setting defaults in Page Master
First, we will set the default fonts.
- To access the Page Master, click on the Tools Menu in the toolbar, top left of the screen as shown below and select View Page Master.
- On the left of the page is the Master tree. This lists all the different types of pages available in the Document.
- From the Master tree, select Title Only, select the Title go to Appearance > Font in the Object Inspector and select the Font color that you want from the drop-down. In this case, we chose Red.
- Go through each Page until you find an Output with text and select it. For example, the Title Page. Select all the Master text styles and change the font from Black to Red:
- Repeat step 4 for each Text object in the Master tree.
Next, we will set one of the default colors for shapes.
- From the Master tree, select Title and Content and the select the existing chart on the page.
- In the Object Inspector, go to Appearance and then either go to Series 0 color or Series 1 color and change the color. We will change Series 0 to Yellow.
- To return from the Page Master view, select Exit Page Master.
This will take you back to the Edit View view where you carry on creating your report.
