Reassigning a license lets you transfer a Displayr license from one user to another — for example, when someone leaves your team or changes role and no longer needs edit access. Before you start, make sure you have a Multi-User account, at least one paid license, and that the new user has already accepted your invitation to the account. When you're done, the new user will have edit access under that license.
Requirements
- At least one paid Displayr license
- A Multi-User account
- The user taking over the license must have accepted your invitation to your account (see How to Invite New Users to Your Displayr Account)
Process
- Go to Account Settings > Licenses tab (see How to Access Your Account Settings).
- Find the license you want to transfer and click Unassign next to it.
- Click the new Assign button that appears.
- Select the new user from the drop-down list and click OK. Displayr sorts the list alphabetically, and you can type a name to search.
Restrictions
If you previously assigned an annual license to a user who no longer needs to edit documents, you can remove that assignment by clicking Unassign. This moves the license back to the Unassigned row, so you can assign it to someone else. Please note:
- If you unassign a license by mistake, you can immediately assign it back to the same user, as long as you haven't made any other changes in the meantime.
- Otherwise, you can't assign an annual license to a user who had one within the preceding 7 days.
- Each license is limited to 2 transfers per year, because it's intended for one person's use for the year.
- Displayr won't let you assign more than 1 annual license to the same user on the same Displayr company account — an annual license already gives that user access to the company's shared pool of view- and edit-mode time. The same user can still hold a license on a different Displayr company account.
