How to Set Default Headers and Footers in Page Master

This article describes how to add a header or footer, which is the text that appears at the top (header) or bottom (footer) of each page of your Document...

To a state where the Page in your Document has a header and/or footer:

Requirements

Go to your Documents page and either create a new blank document by selecting New > Document or open an existing document. 

Method

1. To access the Page Master, click on .
2. Select the type of page that you want the header/footer to appear on from the Master tree.
3. To insert a new text box, click on Text from the toolbar and click on the page.
4. Type the text into the box.
5. Position and format the text to how you want it to appear using the object inspector . For example, if it is a footer, position it at the bottom of the page.
6. For the header/footer to appear on all types of pages, repeat steps 1 through 5 for each page in the Master tree.
7. To return from the Page Master view, click the button at the top right of the screen. This will take you back to the Normal view, where you can carry on creating your report. 

Your header/footer now appears on all the pages.

Technical Information

• Every Page Master (default and custom) in Displayr will be exported to PowerPoint as a slide layout within the Slide Master.
• Objects that can be added to a Page Master (e.g., text items, images, shapes, controls, placeholder textboxes) will appear in PowerPoint on these slide layouts, with the exception of page numbers.
