Sometimes when doing analysis across different scenarios, you will run across an interesting finding that you'd like to highlight. Now, instead of listing out all of the specifics for the scenario for the viewer to replicate, you can save this interesting snapshot as a View that viewers of the dashboard can select to see the analysis and any commentary you add. Viewers of the dashboard can even save their own Views to share. Views are also helpful when you want to allow your viewers to be able to filter your dashboard more granularly, but also want to include larger groups or segments for filtering.
This article describes how to use the Views feature in View Mode. For example, if you published the following visualization ...
... but instead of displaying the results for your entire sample, you want to change the view to only Females between the ages of 18-24, 25-34, or 65+:

Requirements
Please note this requires the Data Stories module or a Displayr license.
- A published dashboard with Views enabled.
- At least one page that contains a control such as a combo box, list box, date picker, or editable text box. Please note that the Views menu will only appear on pages with a visible control.
Method
To access this feature in view mode, do the following:
1. Select Share > Publish to web.
2. Select Login and password required.
3. Expand Advanced Options. Tick Viewers can add, change, delete, and add views. This option must be checked to enable users to add and change views in View mode.
4. If you are in edit mode, you can find the view mode document by either:
- Press Share > Publish to web. The URL is then shown in the Link box, or
- Press Share > Go to view mode.
Your published dashboard will appear in a new tab:
You can also publish a non-password-protected dashboard by following these steps:
1. Click Share > Publish to web.
2. Tick Anyone with the link.
2. Expand Advanced options and tick the Viewers can add, change, delete, and apply views box.
In this example, Anyone with the link is selected:
Creating a new View
New Views are created from the Views menu at the top of the dashboard. Please note that since views work on a page-by-page basis, the Views menu will only appear when you're on a page that contains a control such as a combo box, list box, date picker, or editable text box.
To create a new view:
1. Use the controls to create the view you want. For example, Gender = Males
2. From the Views menu, select +Add view
3. Type a name for the view
4. Click the Add button
If the name of the View already exists, you can replace the existing View or cancel.
If the values of the View are the same as an existing View, the user can replace the existing View or cancel.
Changing Views
To change the view on your dashboard, do the following:
From the Views menu, select the view you want. For example, Females
The results are as follows:
Deleting views
To delete a view, hover over the view you want to delete and click the X on the extreme right
Resetting to default selections and values
From the Views menu, select Reset. In this example, reset reverted the dashboard back to the entire sample. Note that none of the control options are selected.
