How to Copy and Paste Outputs

Requirements

• A Displayr document with at least one output, such as a table or a chart.
• A second Displayr document to be the destination if embedding the output in a new document

Please note this requires the Data Stories module or a Displayr license.

Methods

Copy the exact output

1. Select the output on your page.
2. Click Copy from the menu icon  or right-click and select Copy.
3. Click Paste from the menu icon or right-click and select Paste.
4. (Optional) Re-arrange the pasted output on the page to make both items fully visible.

Copy the underlying data from an output

1. Select the output on your page.
2. Click Copy > Copy Data from the from the menu icon
3. Click Paste from the menu icon to paste a data frame of the underlying data.
   
   Or use the menu icon and select Paste > Paste as plain text to paste the data in the table as a text box.
   
4. (Optional) Re-arrange the pasted output on the page to make both items fully visible.

Copy the output and embed a live version of it in a different Displayr document

You can embed an output like a chart or table from one Displayr document in another (in the same Displayr account). It will then update when the source document is updated and republished.

1. Select the output you want to embed on your page.
2. Click Copy from the menu icon or right-click and select Copy.
3. Go to the second Displayr document.
4. From the menu icon select Paste > Paste as Embedded Object to embed the output in the second document.

To publish any changes to the embedded output, go to the source document and click Share > Embed Object > Update All Embeds.

Note, that copying objects between documents will only work if both browser tabs are not in incognito mode and have the same domain, e.g. app.displayr.com.
