This article describes how to insert a text box on a page.
Requirements
- A Displayr document with at least one page.
Method
- OPTIONAL: If you'd like the text box to be positioned and formatted the same on multiple pages, you should add it in the Page Master view. To do so, from the toolbar, go to Tools > View Page Master and select the Page (layout) in the Master pane that you want to add it to. See Technical Notes below regarding templating in the Page Master.
- From the toolbar, go to Text Box .
- Click on the location on the page where you would like to insert the text box.
- Type in the text you wish to display in the text box.
- OPTIONAL: You can modify the layout and appearance by going to the object inspector and making the desired modifications in the Appearance tab.
Technical Notes
When you add a text box to a Page (layout) in the Page Master view, the actual text inserted in the box will show in the Report wherever that layout is used. If instead, you'd like to add a text box in the same position with the same formatting, but allow the text to be editable in Normal view you will need to Duplicate a title text box from one of the default pages and use that. More info on customizing your report using the Page Master can be found in How to Create a Template Document.
