How to Color Alternate Spans in a Table

This article describes how to go from a table crossed by a banner...

...to a table where you can color each alternative column or row span (in this case Gender) specific colors:

Requirements

• A crosstab created from variables in a data source (using drag and drop).

Method

1. Select your table.
2. In the object inspector, click Data > Rules > Plus (+) > Modify Cell Content > Shade Alternate Spans.
3. Specify whether you wish to Shade > Columns or Rows.
4. Select the appropriate colors from the color pickers to represent the alternating colors.
5. Press OK.

Notes

The spans will also be shaded when exported.
