...to a table where you can color each alternative column or row span (in this case Gender) specific colors:
A table with a banner in the rows or columns.
1. Select your table.
2. Go to Properties > RULES on the object inspector.
3. To apply the rule, select the Plus (+) > Browse Online Library > Modify Cell Content > Shade Alternate Spans.
4. Specify whether you wish to shade columns or rows.
5. Select the appropriate colors from the color pickers to represent the alternating colors.
6. Press OK.
