How to Color Selected Rows or Columns in a Table

This article describes how to go from a standard table...

...to a table where you highlight a specified row or column:

Requirements

• A table with rows and/or columns. Note that the table cannot be a Visualization > Specialty Tables, such as a Table with Custom Formatting (Autofit table). Formatting for that can be done via the menu or by editing the R code directly (see here).

Method

1. Select your table.
2. Go to Data > Rules > + > Other Color > Color Selected Rows or Columns in the object inspector .
3. Specify whether you wish to color rows or columns.
4. Select the row or column label.
5. Select the appropriate color from the color picker.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 if you wish to add further coloring.
7. Press OK.
