How to Customize the Filter Control List in View Mode

When in View Mode the user can filter a Page using the Filter control at the top of the page. This article describes the steps required to add or remove a variable from the list, and how to change the text above the list. 

Requirements

• Professional Displayr license.

• A Displayr Document.

Please note this requires the Data Stories module or a Displayr license.

Method - adding a variable to the list

By default, all variables tagged as Usable as a filter appears in the View Mode Filter control menu list.

Method - removing the variable from the list

1. [OPTIONAL] Before you can remove a variable from the list you must remove it from all outputs that it is used on.
2. In the Data Sources tree select the filter variable.
3. In the object inspector > general select Hidden except in the data Sources.
4. [OPTIONAL] Reapply the filter to any outputs that need to be filtered.
5. Go to Share > Publish as Web Pages > Publish (or Republish).

Method - changing the text

1. In the Data Source tree select the filter variable.
2. Input the desired text to appear above values In the object inspector > General> GENERAL > Label > e.g. Select age...
3. Go to Share > Publish as Web Pages > Publish (or Republish).
