If you need to update a lot of labels at once in Displayr or pull variable labels out of Displayr to use elsewhere, using the Copy and Paste Labels feature can help you do just that.
Requirements
Please note these steps require a Displayr license.
- A Displayr document with at least one data set
- Displayr has access to your computer's clipboard. See: How to Allow Clipboard Access
Methods
Copy variable and variable set labels
- Go to Data Sources and select the variables and variable sets with the labels you want to copy. If you want to copy variables within a variable set, expand the variable set prior to copying the labels. In the example below, the labels inside "Awareness" will be copied because it is expanded, but the labels inside "q2" will not.
- With the labels selected, right-click and select Copy Labels
- Paste the labels elsewhere as desired. You can paste the labels elsewhere in Displayr or outside of Displayr.
Copy variable and variable set labels
- To paste variable and variable set labels, reverse the steps above. First, copy the labels you want to paste. The source can be outside of Displayr or another group of labels in Displayr.
- Next, go to Data Sources and select the variables and variable sets with the labels you want to replace. If you want to update labels within a variable set, expand the variable set prior to pasting. In the example below, the labels inside "Awareness" will be updated because it is expanded, but the labels inside "q2" will not.
- With the labels selected, right-click and select Paste Labels. This will update the labels of the selected variables or variable sets.
