Displayr makes it easy to tell the story in a data table; you can automatically sort the rows, columns, or both, based on patterns of significance in the data.
This is sometimes called "diagonalization". By making the patterns clearer it helps communicate meaning in the data.

Requirements
- A table created in Displayr from a variable or variables in your data set.
Method 1 - Does not automatically update when data changes
- Select your table.
- Right-click on any row (or column) and select Sort > Categories Shown in Rows > By Pattern (or Categories Shown in Columns) > By Pattern.
Method 2 - Automatically updates when data changes
- Select your table.
- From the object inspector, go to Data > Rules > + > Sort/Reorder > Order Rows by Pattern or Order Columns by Pattern.
- (OPTIONAL) Enter row/column labels under Exclude from sort (in addition to NET/SUM).
- (OPTIONAL) Enter row/column labels under Never exclude from sort.
- Click OK.
