This article describes how to go from a table that, by default, shows results at a 95% confidence level:
To a table that shows significant results at a different confidence level:
In addition to adjusting the overall confidence level, you can adjust how column comparisons are displayed based on cutoff p-values.
Requirements
Familiarity with Displayr's significance testing settings. See How to Apply Significance Testing in Displayr.
Method - Adjust the overall significance level
1. Select the table in your document for which you want to change the confidence level of the significant results.
2. From the object inspector, select Appearance > Appearance> Significance > Advanced.
3. Select the Significance Levels tab.
Let's say we want to change the confidence level to 90%.
4. In the Overall significance level box, type 0.1.
5. Select Apply to Selection to apply it to the table you selected, or Set as Default to set this as the default for the entire document.
Method - Show one level of statistical significance when using column comparisons
By default, when using column comparisons, Displayr uses both upper and lowercase letters to show statistical significance, with uppercase (e.g., A, B, C) to show results significant at the 0.001 level (99.9% level of confidence) and lowercase (e.g., a, b, c) to show significance at the 0.05 level (95%).
To show only one level of statistical significance when doing column comparisons:
- Select the table.
- Go to Appearance > Appearance > Significance > Advanced.
- In the Significance Levels > Significance levels and appearance grid at the bottom of the tab, copy one of the uppercase Column letters fields (i.e., A,B,C,...,).
- Click on each of the lowercase fields (i.e., a,b,c,...,), delete the content, and paste the uppercase letters.
- OPTIONAL: Change the overall significance level. See Method - Adjust the overall significance level above.
- Select Apply to Selection or Set as Default.
Restore to Document Default Settings
To revert to the document's current default settings, click the Restore button
Note: The Restore button will only be enabled when settings for the selected item(s) differ from the document's current default settings (settings saved by Set as Default). The Restore button will be disabled if you do not save any settings for the selected item(s). See How to Set the Default Type of Significance Test to learn more about changing the default settings.
