Displayr (and our sister software Q) use special file types called QPacks. This is a compressed file that contains both the Project File (.Q) used to create the report and outputs as well as the data set (e.g., .sav file, API info, etc) used to populate the report. You can use this QPack file interchangeably, not only between the two software but also between different Dispalyr documents. This article specifically describes how to save a Q project as a *.QPack file and load it into a Displayr document.
Requirements
Please note these steps require a Displayr license.
- A project created in the Q software along with data used to populate the outputs.
- You wish to create a brand new document or a new version of your document (using the free version method below). When you upload a QPack to Displayr it recreates the entire report and uses the data specified in the QPack.
Method
Save your project as a QPack
If you have already analyzed a project using Q, the fastest way to transfer your work to Displayr is to save the Q project as a QPack, and upload it to Displayr. A QPack
- Open your project in Q.
- Select File > Save as … and change the File type option to Q Pack Files - project and data in one compressed file (*.QPack).
- Type in the file name and click Save.
Use the QPack to Create a New Document
If you have purchased a Displayr license or are trialing a license:
- Go to the Documents screen and press Upload > QPack.
- Select your file (ending in .QPack) via Choose File.
- Update the name and press Upload.
If you are using the free version of Displayr:
- Go to the Documents screen and press + New Document.
- Type in a document name and select Create.
- Click on Tools menu and select Version History.
- Click + Upload New Version.
- Select your file (ending in .QPack) via Choose File.
- Update the name and press Open.
- Select Upload.
- Repeat Step 3.
- Select Use this version next to the QPack file you uploaded.
Note that every Q folder becomes a folder in Displayr, and every table or output is likewise stored on a separate page, with one exception. If a folder in Q has a single output (table, visualization, R Output, etc.) in it, that folder becomes a page in Displayr.
