...to a scatter plot with logos:
Requirements
You will need:
- A Scatter, Labeled Scatter, or Bubble chart.
- URLs directly to images stored online. Note that the URLs must not be behind a login. The most straightforward way to do this is to use Displayr Cloud Drive and share the files. Make sure that you check this has worked by pasting the URLs into your browser. If the URL is correct, the image will be displayed in the browser. See the Sharing and unsharing a file from the Cloud Drive in How to Use the Displayr Cloud Drive for more information and requirements.
Method
The following table is used as the input to this example:
- Select a scatter plot on a Page.
- From the object inspector
, in Chart > Appearance > Logos, paste in the URLs where your logo images are stored. The URLs must be separated by a comma and in the exact order of your input rows used to create the original scatter plot. To match my input table above, I will paste in the URLs in the following order: Coca.Cola, V, Red.Bull, Lift.Plus, Diet.Coke, Fanta, Lift, Pepsi.
- Optional: You can scale logos with the Logo size parameter.
- Optional: You can reposition the logos on the chart by dragging and dropping. These positions will be remembered when the visualization recalculates as long as the data remains the same. There is also a Reset link in the bottom right when hovering.
NOTE: Logos are only suitable for plots with a low number of points. Otherwise, the plot becomes too busy and confusing.
