This article includes a customized template of a Bar, Column and Line Visualization (originally from Visualization > Bar/Column/Line), which can additionally show error bars.
Requirements
- A Displayr document.
- A standard table or R table that references a standard table. For summary tables, you must display Lower Confidence Interval (%) and Upper Confidence Interval (%) statistics in the cells. For crosstabs, you will need to apply the appropriate Rule from How to Calculate Confidence Intervals for Crosstabs with Numeric Variable Sets and How to Calculate Confidence Intervals for Crosstabs with Categorical Variable Sets and display Lower Confidence Interval and Upper Confidence Interval in your table.
- You wish to use a Bar, Column or Line chart and add error bars using Upper and Lower Confidence Intervals.
Method
Saving the template to your Displayr Cloud Drive
By saving the template to your cloud drive, it will then be available to use in any document in your account.
- Download the template file from here.
- From your account, you can access the cloud drive at the top right of the page via your Initials icon > Displayr Cloud Drive.
- Select the appropriate location and press + Upload.
- Select the downloaded template file and press Upload.
Applying your template to a table
You can apply this template to any table that does not already have either the template or a Visualization applied.
- Right-click your table > Apply Template.
- Search for the previously saved template in the appropriate folder and select it.
- Press Apply.
Re-saving your template
If you wish to change the default settings of the template with those that you use most often, you can save this back to the cloud drive.
- Make the changes you want to save as default.
- Right-click your visualization template > Save as Template.
- Select the appropriate name and location.
- Press Save.
Options
General
The general settings for the Visualization Options still apply. The following are additional options.
Error Bars
Under Chart > Error Bars in the object inspector , you can tick Show error bars to include them in your visualization.
Error bar color - Set the color for all error bars.
Thickness - Set the thickness of the error bars.
Width - Set the width of the horizontal caps for the error bars.
Changing visualization type
While this template defaults to Column, you can switch it to Bar, Line or Table via the object inspector > Data > Show Advanced Options > Output > Chart type.
