How to Change a Variable Set From Displaying Percentages to Averages

Requirements

Please note these steps require a Displayr license.

• Familiarity with the Structure and Value Attributes of Variable Sets.
• A categorical (Nominal or Ordinal) variable set that contains meaningful underlying numeric values. For example, a 1-5 scale question for multiple brands. 

Method - Automatic

1. Create a table from your variable set by dragging it from the Data Sources onto the page. 
2. Select the variable set in the Data Sources.
3. For Nominal - Multi: Grid or Ordinal - Multi: Grid variables:
   From the toolbar menu, select + > Data > Variables > Modify > Restructure > Averages
   
   For Nominal or Ordinal variables:
   From the toolbar menu, select (Nominal or Ordinal) + > Data > Variables > Modify > Restructure > Average

Method - Manual

1. Select the variable set in the Data Sources.
2. [OPTIONAL]:  If you want to keep the original variable intact, you can create a duplicate copy of the variable first by right-clicking > Duplicate
3. In the object inspector > Data > Properties > Structure > to the appropriate Numeric structure per Variable Sets.
