You can set what categories and data are included in tables and analyses via the Missing Data settings in the Value Attributes of a Variable Set, see Variable Sets. However, sometimes you do want to show a category on a table that may be missing data for some of the cells in your table. In Displayr, missing values in built-in tables are shown by NaN, but you are able to change the NaN to something else if needed. This article describes how to apply a rule to go from a table showing missing values as NaN...
...to a table or visualization where the NaN has been replaced with specified text (e.g. - ):
Requirements
- A table or visualization.
Note: You must apply the rule directly to the input table if you see a table icon in the Data > Data Source > Data field in the object inspector of a visualization.
You will also see a warning in the Rules section of the object inspector if you have applied a rule directly to a non-compatible visualization, and you will need to apply it to the input table instead. For example:
Method
- Select your table or visualization.
- Go to Data > Rules > + > Cell Content > Change Missing Data (NaN) Symbol in the object inspector.
- Enter the text to replace the missing data (NaN).
- Press OK.
