To a table that merges selected categories to create a new NET category:
Requirements
Please note these steps require a Displayr license.
A data set containing a Nominal or Binary - Multi variable set which contains categories that you want to combine.
- For Nominal variables, the category counts being merged are added together.
- For Binary - Multi variable sets, the categories are merged by counting respondents who selected any of the categories being merged.
Method
1. Create a table from your Nominal or Binary - Multi variable set by dragging it from the Data Sources tree onto the page.
2. Hold down your Ctrl key and select the row header for each of the categories that you want to merge.
3. From the Tools menu in the top left, select Combine > As New Category. The variables will then be merged into a new NET category in the table:
4. OPTIONAL: Select the merged row header and then from the toolbar menu, select Rename to rename the row label.
