This article describes how to add an Image to your Displayr document.
Requirements
- A Displayr document
Note: If using the Displayr Cloud Drive, only PNG, JPG, and GIF image types are accepted. Additionally, if you place these files in folders, when you open the import dialog, you will need to select the relevant folder.
Method
You can insert an image in the following ways:
- From the toolbar, click the Image
button.
- Depending on the location of the image, you can:
- Insert an image from your computer by clicking Browse your computer.
- Insert an image from a web search or cloud drive by clicking on Web Search/Cloud Drive.
Insert an image from your company's Displayr Cloud Drive by clicking on Displayr Cloud Drive.
When the image has been inserted, you can position and resize it either by going to the object inspectorand selecting Appearance > Layout, or by selecting the image itself and resizing it by adjusting the transform handles.
You can also choose whether to enable image compression under General > Image Compression. Image compression is applied automatically when viewing images online; see Technical details below.
Technical details
Displayr's built-in image compression automatically selects the optimal resolution and compresses the image to load faster in online browsers. This can significantly reduce the time required to load high-resolution images. For exporting, the original resolution is used by default. Both settings can be toggled in the object inspector of the image in General > Image Compression section using the Automatically compress image when viewing online and Automatically compress images when exporting as PDF or PowerPoint check boxes.
