Sometimes respondents taking a survey may not choose any option for a multiple response question. This means that none of the variables in the variable set for that question are marked as Selected for those respondents. In this case, the NET of the variable set will not be 100% because it only includes those who picked at least one of the options. This article describes how to add a "None of These" answer to your variable or table if wanted:
When the categories do not add up to 100%, this creates a new category for cases where the respondent did not tick any of the existing categories. This will result in the categories adding up to 100%.
Requirements
A Displayr document with at least one Binary - Multi variable or a table constructed from a Binary - Multi variable.
Method
- Select a Binary-Multi variable or an existing table that was constructed using a Binary-Multi variable.
- Go to Anything (+) > Data > Variables > Modify > Add Categories > Add None of These.
- The variable or output will automatically update with a "None of these" option added.
