UPCOMING WEBINAR: 10 Market Research Predictions Over the Next 4 Years This article describes how to stack a data file (e.g. change respondent-level data into occasion-level data) using our sister software Q. The tool in Q is drag and drop whereas the stacking tool in Displayr uses patterns in the variable names to stack variables together, see How to Stack Data in Displayr. Sometimes the drag and drop method may be preferable based on how you'd like to stack the data and what is possible using variable name matching.
Requirements
- A Displayr document with a .sav data set.
- Q Professional or Q Reader (a free version of Q Research Software with limited functionality). To install Q Reader, click here. Please note, a Windows machine is required to install.
Method
- Open your Displayr Document.
- Select Share > Export Data > Download Document (.QPack).
Note: When downloading the QPack, if you have files stored in the Displayr Cloud Drive, you will be prompted to download them directly when exporting. - Open the QPack in Q by double-clicking it, or else opening Q and going to File > Open > Existing Project and then selecting the file.
- In Q, go to Tools > Stack Data.

Once the stacked data set is made, you can import it into your current document and link it with the respondent-level data set to create crosstabs using data from both.
