Some text analysis features are separate from our Text Categorization module tool and are more ad hoc analysis items that live on a page. This article describes how to save the categories created for these on-page automatic text classifications so that you can use them in other analyses.
Requirements
You will need an automatic categorization output created by using one of the following methods:
Automatically Classified Unstructured Text Data:
Automatically Classified List of Items:
Automatically Classified Entity Extraction:
Method
- Select automatic categorization output (examples shown above) on the Page.
- From the object inspector, go to Data > Save Variable(s).
- Click one of the following:
- Categories: Save variables to the data set containing the categories. Where there are multiple input variables, multiple sets of variables are added for each.
- First category: Save a variable to the data set containing the first category mentioned. Where there are multiple input categories, the first category of each will be saved as a separate variable.
- A new variable will appear in your Data Sources tree that contains the categorized responses.
NOTE: The variables created from this using Save Variable(s) > Categories and First Category may become invalid and need to be deleted and recreated if the output has changed, either due to the input text variable being modified or the input settings modified.
